1896 50C PR65 NGC. This Gem proof 1896 Barber half is deeply toned in olive-gold, amber-orange, sea-green, and russet-gray hues, with deeply mirrored fields and sharp motifs. A few stray hairlines are well-hidden by the rich patina. Finer examples are occasionally seen but harder to acquire for the budget-conscious collector. Census: 34 in 65, 46 finer (11/16).
