1795 $1 Draped Bust, Centered, B-15, BB-52, R.2, XF45 PCGS. CAC. Bowers Die State IV. The BB-52 variety shows the portrait of Liberty properly centered on the planchet, with the highest wave of hair located under the E of LIBERTY. The obverse is paired with a reverse showing six berries on the olive branch and a leaf under the A of STATES. This example is richly toned with bluish-gray fields and tan toning on the central motifs. Bright silver luster surrounds raised elements. Light rub on the high points confirms the Choice XF grade, yet sharp definition remains on the hair strands, stars, and eagle to suggest an even finer level. Abrasions are few and there are no discernible adjustment marks. Population: 44 in 45, 87 finer. CAC: 7 in 45, 13 finer (11/16).
