Early Dollars
1798 $1 Large Eagle, Pointed 9, 5 Vertical Lines, 10 Arrows, B-17, BB-101, R.5, VG8 PCGS. A fairly early die state that shows a lapped shoulder curl and a break near the I in AMERICA, but with only one of the eventually several obverse die cracks. B-17 is a very scarce die marriage, one of four Bolender varieties with five lines in each vertical shield stripe. A green-gray and wheat-gold example with only one mentionable mark, beneath the upper left cloud.
