1798 $1 Large Eagle, Pointed 9, Close Date, B-25, BB-123, R.4, AU53 PCGS Secure. Bowers Die State IV. The obverse border exhibits several lengthy cracks. On the very scarce Bolender-25, the reverse stars appear in a line pattern with the top stars overlapping the clouds, known as the "Blundered Stars" reverse. The unblemished pewter-gray surfaces display delicate gold highlights. Luster illuminates the margins and motifs. The stars above the eagle's head are lightly brought up, but the remainder of the strike is good.
