1799 $1 7x6 Stars, B-18, BB-154, R.4 -- Planchet Flaw -- PCGS Genuine. AU Details. Bowers Die State I. A planchet flaw is noticeable between the rim and obverse star 1. The same flaw is only faintly apparent on the reverse, between the ST in STATES. The flaw is barely a distraction, and does not affect the coin's technical grade. A rare "prime" die state, without the radial crack between the ED in UNITED that is nearly always seen on B-18. The caramel-gold and ice-blue surfaces display substantial luster, and lack any consequential contact. A prize for the knowledgeable specialist.
