1800 $1 AMERICAI, B-11, BB-191, R.4, AU55 NGC. Bowers Die State Peach-gold, violet, and deep-umber toning visit the Choice surfaces of this colorful About Uncirculated dollar. Mint luster glows generously beneath the glossy, richly patinated surfaces. The BB-191 is the scarcer of two AMERICAI varieties, so-named for the diagnostic die scratch that resembles an "I" (sort of) after AMERICA. The Low 8 in the date confirms the variety. As always, the variety is weakly struck on the reverse at the eagle's head and surrounding field stars and ribbon. Only minor marks from circulation are present. This example ranks well within the Condition Census for the BB-191 -- an important Guide Book variety.
