1802/1 $1 Narrow Date, B-4, BB-232, R.3, VF20 PCGS. Bowers Die State II. A somewhat scarce overdate, the BB-232 exists to the extent of about 400 to 750 pieces according to the Bowers Encyclopedia of early dollars. This VF20 example is well-defined and problem-free for the grade. Warm-gray toning displays slate-gray accents around the raised elements. A nicely centered coin with strong rims and dentils, as well as smooth surfaces and no adjustment marks. The 2/1 overdate is bold.
