Seated Dollars
1870-CC $1 VF30 PCGS. OC-6. Osburn-Cushing Die State b/a. An essential for collectors of Carson City Seated dollars and the first-year key to the series, the 1870-CC saw a production of around 12,000 pieces -- different sources vary. Although it is the most available of the four CC-mint Seated dollar issues, its status as a historic Western issue -- these were the first coins ever struck in Carson City -- the 1870-CC sees ceaseless demand. The present VF30 PCGS example is extremely attractive, lightly toned, and showing some moderate abrasions on each side that befit a considerable spate in circulation. The VF grade range is typical for the average certified survivor.
