Trade Dollars
1873 T$1 MS65 PCGS. The debut Trade dollar issue from the Philadelphia Mint is a rarity at the Gem grade level and exceedingly scarce any finer. Nonetheless, it is still the most collectible first-year issue of the series in this condition. This piece displays vivid sun-orange toning with lavender overlays near the borders. Liberty's head is a trifle soft, and the eagle's right (facing) talons are incomplete, but no other mentionable weakness is seen. Scattered minor abrasions are a trivial secondary consideration at this grade level. Population: 12 in 65 (1 in 65+), 5 finer (11/16).
