Trade Dollars
1877-CC T$1 AU58 PCGS. Deep, variegated aqua-green and lavender toning dominates both sides of this near-Mint State Trade dollar, accented with whispers of reddish-brown around the borders. The design elements are well-impressed, and just a few unobtrusive minute marks associated with brief circulation are noted. The 1877-CC is a scarce issue, with fewer than 400 submissions seen by PCGS and NGC. Many of the 534,000 pieces minted must have been melted either at the Mint or in the course of Oriental trade. Population: 26 in 58, 88 finer (11/16).
