Trade Dollars
1878-CC T$1 AU55 PCGS. CAC. A significant number of 1878-CC Trade dollars were melted before they left government control, and today even About Uncirculated coins are very scarce. Finer examples are borderline rare. This Choice AU piece retains its appeal despite a degree of light wear across the high points and into the fields. Gunmetal-gray toning with traces of golden mint luster covers both sides. The smooth fields are free of all but a few tiny, well-scattered marks. CAC endorsed. Population: 11 in 55, 47 finer. CAC: 2 in 55, 9 finer (11/16).
