Proof Trade Dollars
1876 T$1 PR65 Cameo PCGS. Type One Obverse. Type Two Reverse. The flashy fields and icy motifs are generally brilliant, but the obverse margin displays attractive peach-gold patina, and the reverse exhibits blushes of steel-gray near the eagle's neck and left (facing) wingtip. A couple of lint marks (as coined) near star 3 and above Liberty's head provide further identifiers. A well-struck Gem. The proof mintage of 1,150 pieces was higher than the prior three years of the type, due to sales of proof sets at the Mint booth of the Centennial Exposition in Philadelphia. Population: 10 in 65 (1 in 65+) Cameo, 4 finer (10/16).
