1876 T$1 PR65 Cameo PCGS Secure. CAC. Type One Obverse, Type Two Reverse. A transitional variety with the obverse used from 1873 to 1876 and the reverse used from 1876 to 1885. An attractively contrasted specimen with untoned centers and arcs of burnt-orange, cobalt-blue, and violet toning partially framing each side. The obverse displays excellent sharpness throughout, while a touch of softness is noted on the more stressful points (left wingtip, leg feathers, and talons) of the eagle. While receiving less fanfare than the proof-only issues, the 1876 is actually scarcer in such an outstanding grade. Population: 10 in 65 (1 in 65+) Cameo, 4 finer. CAC: 8 in 65, 1 finer (11/16).
