1946 50C Doubled Die Reverse, FS-801, MS66 PCGS. A lustrous and essentially brilliant example of the pronounced doubled die that affects the wing feathers and E PLURIBUS UNUM on the reverse. The broad doubling is dramatic, sharply struck from an early state of the dies. Many Walking Liberty specialists consider FS-801 the most impressive doubled die of the series -- the only variety of the series given a separate Guide Book listing. This Premium Gem shows only a few small marks and about 80% details on the head and branch hand. Population (FS-801 variety): 22 in 66 (4 in 66+), 0 finer (11/16).
