Morgan Dollars
1878-CC $1 MS66 PCGS. Blue and violet patina near the margins combine with light apricot-orange hues centrally, accounting for the tremendous eye appeal of this Premium Gem Carson City dollar. A remarkably toned example from the series' first year of issue, only a few tiny marks and abrasions exist -- and they are lost amid the rich toning. Liberty's portrait is pristine, while frosty luster illuminates strongly struck devices, where only the talons lack sharpness. PCGS shows just six numerically finer coins (11/16).
