Morgan Dollars
1881-CC $1 MS67 PCGS. The 1881-CC Morgan dollar had a modest production total of 296,000 coins, but most of those remained in Mint and Treasury vaults for nearly a century until the GSA sales in the 1970s. Those sales supplied most of the Mint State examples of this and many other Carson City dollars to the numismatic marketplace. This Superb Gem was probably from the GSA distribution, and exhibits fully brilliant and untoned silver surfaces with an above average strike and exceptional frosty mint luster. PCGS has only certified four finer pieces (12/16).
