Morgan Dollars
1886-O $1 MS64 PCGS. Despite a mintage exceeding 10 million coins, the 1886-O Morgan dollar is a better date in Uncirculated condition and is prohibitively rare at the Gem level. This near-Gem representative is among the finest most collectors will have a chance to acquire. The central devices are boldly defined, and the surfaces radiate satiny cartwheel luster. The obverse displays a blend of lemon-gold and sea-green toning, while the reverse is cast in lovely lavender-blue hues with a ring of gold around the periphery. A few trivial grazes define the grade. PCGS lists seven Gems finer, NGC none (11/16).
