1891-CC $1 Spitting Eagle, VAM-3, MS65 PCGS. 30th Anniversary Green Label Holder. A Top 100 Variety. This brilliant, frosty 1891-CC Morgan is about as nice as the issue comes at the Gem grade level. This piece shows only a few faint grazes when studied under a loupe, and the overall eye appeal is exceptional. Strike weakness on the hair above Liberty's ear is less than usual for the issue. A small die lump near the eagle's beak identifies the "Spitting Eagle" VAM variety. All 1891-CC dollar varieties included, PCGS reports only 36 finer submissions (11/16).
