Morgan Dollars
1891-O $1 MS65+ PCGS. Morgan dollar collectors should have little trouble locating the 1891-O through MS63 and even MS64, but the certified population declines markedly thereafter. Gems are very scarce. Examples are notorious for their poor strike characteristics. This is inarguably among the finest examples available, showing relatively strong detail on the eagle's breast, talons, and the wreath leaves. The obverse is more typically defined with softness over the ear, the lower curls, and the lower border. Each side is fully brilliant, softly frosted, with few marks. PCGS has awarded a Plus designation to merely six MS65 submissions. There are no higher-graded coins at that service (11/16).
