Morgan Dollars
1896-S $1 MS64 PCGS. CAC. Relatively few near-Gem or finer coins escaped the combined clutches of West Coast circulation, melting under the Pittman Act, and LaVere Redfield's extensive hoard. The present coin is a bit baggy on the cheek but razor-sharp otherwise. Brilliant and sharply struck for this scarce San Francisco issue, strong silver luster and CAC endorsement add to the appeal. The PCGS population shows just 82 numerically finer examples. CAC: 47 in 64, 8 finer (11/16).
