Buffalo Nickels
1926-S 5C MS64+ PCGS. The 1926-S Buffalo nickel is the only date-mintmark combination with a mintage of less than 1 million coins and it is a well-known condition rarity in the series, the key non-variety issue toward assembling a complete set. Only the 1924-S has a lower PCGS Mint State population, and then only by 24 submissions. This light gold-toned near-Gem has a better-than-average strike and satiny luster, exhibiting sky-blue toning around the devices. PCGS has only certified 10 examples of the 1926-S in MS64+, and just 15 in finer grades, all certified as MS65 (11/16).
