1926-S 5C MS64+ PCGS. CAC. A typical strike is noted on this near-Gem 1926-S nickel with weakness at the date, but with LIBERTY sharp and fully separated from the border. The reverse legend is weak opposite the date, but well-defined around the remaining border. Both sides of this lovely piece exhibit brilliant gold-toned luster with satin surfaces and minimal marks or spots. These pieces are in strong demand among Set Registry collectors and other aficionados. Only 10 examples of the 1926-S are PCGS certified in MS64+ with just 15 finer pieces. CAC: 24 in 64, 2 finer (11/16).
