Mercury Dimes
1919-D 10C MS65 Full Bands PCGS. CAC. The typical 1919-D Mercury dime was rather indistinctly struck, lacking sharp details. Because of that, coins with Full Split Bands are rare and highly popular with collectors. The key to selection of an appropriate example is the split between the two horizontal bands at the center of the fasces. It is imperative that the division is complete and unbroken, as it is on this Gem. Both sides exhibit delicate champagne toning over frosty luster, creating excellent eye appeal. The 1919-D is a major rarity this fine, and CAC-endorsed coins in this and finer condition are extremely rare. Population: 17 in 65 Full Bands, 5 finer. CAC: 1 in 65, 2 finer (11/16).
