1983 10C No S PR70 Deep Cameo PCGS. Proof San Francisco coins missing their S mintmarks form a challenging collecting pursuit, particularly for the Registry Set enthusiast for whom quality plays a much more significant factor than it may for the general collecting populace. The 1983 No S proof dime is ranked 36th in Schechter and Garrett's 100 Greatest U.S. Modern Coins. The variety is scarce in all grades but is usually obtainable in PR68 and PR69 Deep Cameo. PR70 Deep Cameos, however, are extremely rare. This piece is tied with three others as the finest at PCGS (11/16). The strike is full, and each side displays flawless, untoned cameo contrast. The depth of mirroring in the fields is reminiscent of a crystal pond. This is a condition rarity that should draw substantial bidder interest.
