1896 25C PR68 Deep Cameo PCGS. CAC. Only 762 proof Barber quarters were struck in 1896 and few survivors can match the high technical quality and incredible eye appeal of the present coin. This magnificent PR68 example exhibits strongly impressed design elements throughout, but some loss of detail is evident around the outline of the shield, due to die polishing. The devices display a thick coat of mint frost that creates stunning cameo contrast with the deeply mirrored fields. The surfaces are impeccably preserved, with just the faintest hints of pale gold and lavender toning to enhance the outstanding visual appeal.
