Trade Dollars
1874 T$1 MS65+ PCGS. CAC. With period after FINE. The 1874 Trade dollar boasts a commanding mintage of nearly 1 million coins, although it is scarce in Mint State and a major rarity above MS64. This is the only Plus-graded coin among a tiny population of Gems at PCGS, and finer pieces are prohibitively rare. The CAC endorsement confirms the outstanding quality. Incredibly frosty, untoned luster glows on each side, revealing no more than a few trivial marks that are not out of line for the grade. The eagle's right leg and talons show strike weakness, but the obverse is well-defined. An exceptional type coin for the collector seeking strong quality and original mint luster. Population: 6 in 65 (1 in 65+), 2 finer. CAC: 2 in 65, 2 finer (11/16).
