1876-S T$1 Type Two Obverse, Type Two Reverse, MS65 PCGS. Minute S. The mintage of 5.2 million pieces should give an indicator of scarcity or commonness, but in this case the mintage is actually not much help in determining availability in Gem condition. Lower grade Uncirculated examples are relatively abundant, MS60-62 pieces are still common, and several hundred MS63-64 coins available. However, in MS65 PCGS has only certified six pieces with one finer (11/16). The surfaces on this dollar are brightly lustrous with a mixture of blue-rose toning over each side. Sharply struck throughout with no noticeable or distracting marks on either side.
