Proof Trade Dollars
1877 T$1 PR65 Cameo PCGS. CAC. Cameo examples of the proof 1877 Trade dollar represent only a small portion of the surviving population. Most such pieces also grade no finer than PR64. This Gem CAC coin offers a degree of quality that is extremely rare among Cameo-designated proofs. Fully struck design elements contrast with mirrored fields, giving each side a pleasing cameo appearance. Original toning encompasses the margins in hues of ocean-blue, sea-green, gold, amber, and violet, while the central reverse and an off-center orb on the obverse (toward 2 o'clock) are nearly brilliant. No major marks are present. Population: 5 in 65 Cameo, 3 finer. CAC: 3 in 65, 2 finer (11/16).
