Morgan Dollars
1884-S $1 MS62 PCGS. Following five San Francisco Mint silver dollars that are plentiful in all grades, the survival rate dropped precipitously in 1883, and ever farther in 1884. Just four percent of all PCGS certified 1884-S Morgan dollars grade MS60 or finer, and only 69 examples are finer than this piece (11/16). This impressive example has brilliant silver luster with frosty and untoned surfaces. Both sides are boldly defined with excellent detail over Liberty's ear, and strong breast and wing feathers on the reverse. The eye appeal is finer than many MS63 examples that we have seen.
