1904 $1 MS66+ PCGS. CAC. Iridescent cobalt-blue toning consumes the reverse and occupies peripheral portions of the obverse. Ruby-red and autumn-brown adorn much of the portrait. Cartwheel luster illuminates sharply struck and minimally marked surfaces. The 1904 can be located with relative ease in MS63, but Premium Gems are surprisingly rare, and none have been certified finer by PCGS. The nose, chin, and lips are lightly die doubled, as is the base of the earlobe, similar to VAM-5. Population: 30 in 66 (2 in 66+), 0 finer. CAC: 6 in 66, 0 finer (11/16).
