1892 $1 PR67 Cameo PCGS. A pale layer of antique golden-gray patina lightly accents the brilliant surfaces of this Superb Gem Cameo proof dollar. Reflective mirrors are undimmed by the toning, while the frosted devices generate abundant contrast. Interest in the then-novel Barber designs resulted in increased proof Morgan dollar production, bringing the total struck in 1892 to 1,245 proofs for the year.
The strike is needle-sharp on this example. A curled lint mark near the P of PLURIBUS is an inconsequential mint-related quirk, but the sole surface anomaly to mention. Proof Morgan dollars are always in demand at this high grade, and this lightly toned beauty will be sure to attract many admirers. Population: 3 in 67 (1 in 67+) Cameo, 4 finer (11/16).
