High Relief Double Eagles
1907 $20 High Relief, Flat Rim, MS62 NGC. By setting the collar and die faces closer together and changing the upset angle slightly, the Mint was able to almost eliminate the "fin" or wire rim seen on the earlier-produced High Relief twenties. Just a trace of the fin can be found on each side of this piece. The surfaces are bright with the usually seen satiny mint luster. Very few contact marks can be found on either obverse or reverse. Slightly variegated pale red and yellow-gold is seen on the obverse, the reverse is uniformly light reddish-gold. At this grade level, this coin represents an opportunity to acquire this seldom-seen High Relief variant.
