Commemorative Silver
1892 50C Columbian MS67+ PCGS. CAC. The first-year 1892 mintage of 950,000 Columbian half dollars was a complete sell-out -- the entire mintage was distributed. Nevertheless, Gem examples are scarce and Superb Gem pieces are rare. Many of the high-end coins display colorful and attractive toning such as this example, with iridescent rainbow shades that infuse each side with exquisite charm. The satiny surfaces are free of all but the most trivial and inconsequential marks that require a strong loupe and much searching. The strike is sharp for the issue, earning CAC endorsement for the incredible eye appeal and high technical quality. Population: 7 in 67+, 1 finer. CAC: 36 in 67, 0 finer (11/16).
