1997 $100 One-Ounce Platinum Eagle MS70 PCGS. The numismatic significance of this Platinum Eagle should be considered carefully. It represents the first issuance of platinum coinage in United States history and was voted "Most Popular" by the World Coin News in its 1997 "Coin of the Year" competition. Only a small handful of the 56,000 one-ounce bullion strikes produced have received an MS70 assessment. Five of those are at NGC, and this is the solo finest example at PCGS (11/16). Technically perfect, partly contrasted, and fully struck, we expect strong interest from Registry Set builders.
