Errors
1976-S 50C Bicentennial Half Dollar -- Struck on a Five Cent Planchet -- PR63 PCGS. A desirable wrong planchet error on a briefly issued type. Attractive light wheat-gold toning visits the mirrored and unblemished surfaces. Struck aligned with the dies at 4:30. The date and mintmark are complete. The top of Kennedy's head is off the flan, as is most of LIBERTY and (appropriately) all of HALF DOLLAR. Letters near the edge (such as the N in IN) are distorted from unrestrained metal flow, characteristic of strikes on undersized planchets.
