The date and STATES OF AMERICA are very close to the edge, and the outer point of star 13 is off the flan. An unabraded and pleasing olive-gold example. Mint errors on Federal gold coins are seldom encountered. Our online auction archives, which date to 1993, show 12 examples of off-center Indian quarter eagles, all at the Philadelphia Mint and bearing 1910, 1911, or 1912 dates.
