1911 $2 1/2 Indian Quarter Eagle -- Struck 2% Off Center -- MS62 PCGS. Struck noticeably off center toward 4:30. The rim is broad near 10:30, and absent at 4:30. The date and STATES OF AMERICA are very close to the edge, and the outer point of star 13 is off the flan. An unabraded and pleasing olive-gold example. Mint errors on Federal gold coins are seldom encountered. Our online auction archives, which date to 1993, show 12 examples of off-center Indian quarter eagles, all at the Philadelphia Mint and bearing 1910, 1911, or 1912 dates.
