So-Called Dollars
Eight-Piece Lot of California Exposition Medals. Seven pieces are HK-listed so-called dollars in NGC holders. Six of those are from the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition. The exception is the HK-430 so-called dollar. The so-called dollars include: California - Expo State MS62 Prooflike NGC, HK-414, R.5, ex: Cosmique Collection, gilt brass; California - Expo State MS63 NGC, HK-414, R.5, gilt brass; California - Expo State MS64 Deep Mirror Prooflike NGC, HK-414, R.5, gilt brass; Tower of Jewels MS62 NGC, HK-415, R.5, gilt brass; Exposition City MS62 NGC, HK-417, R.6, ex: Cosmique Collection, brass; Four Portraits MS62 NGC, HK-420, R.5, silver-plated, antiqued; 1916 Panama-California Exposition Official Medal MS66 Brown NGC, HK-430, R.5, silver-plated, antiqued. The eighth piece is an Uncertified 50 mm bronze Swedish Pavilion medal by Swedish-American artist Carl Oscar Borg with the legend ARBETET ADLAR, which translates as Job Ennoble.
