Undated Nobel Committee 23K Gold Medal, MS64 NGC. 27 mm. 20 grams. The five members of the Nobel committees are tasked with the identification of a worthy laureate for the Nobel Prize in the various classes. With just five committee members, these medals were struck in minuscule quantities and are extremely rare today. Issued to committee members for Physics, this medal features a bold strike and brilliant yellow surfaces with frosty luster and minimal surface marks. This particular example is undated, unlike others we have handled that have the award date on the edge. The medal may have been a prototype, but is more likely an unissued remainder.
