Ingots
Mint of The United States at San Francisco, Type One Oval Hallmark, Large Font # 757 (7 over 8), Curved Stem 9s in 999.5 Fine. 5.19 ozs. Early to mid-1930s. The Type One silver ingots with a large font serial number and with Curved Stem 9s are the first series of 5-ounce class ingots produced in the early to mid-1930s. Few have survived, and we cannot find another in our Auction Archives that we have handled in recent years. This piece shows an interesting feature, a 7 over 8 imprint in the serial number. The imprinting is well laid-out and the surfaces show bright, original rose-colored patina.
