Ingots
Mint of The United States at San Francisco, Type One Oval Hallmark, Small Font # 436, Curved Stem 9s in 999.75 Fine. 5.74 ozs. Early to mid-1940s.
Production began on the Type One hallmark silver ingots in the early 1930s, but the Small Font pieces with Curved 9s in the fineness date to the early 1940s. This is a relatively available series with an estimated 1,500 ingots produced, of which we know of fewer than 80 that have survived today. The sides are bright silver-gray. A curved gas bubble is seen on the right side of the hallmark.
