Mint of the United States at San Francisco, Type One Oval Hallmark, Large Font # 1732, Straight Stem 9s in 999.5 Fine, Lot #6. 6.80 ozs. Mid to late-1930s.
The type showing Large Font Serial Numbers and Straight Stem 9s are among the more frequently seen ingots in the first two series of Type One ingots. This is an attractive piece that has a well-impressed hallmark that, like the piece above is just slightly off the bar and missing peripheral detail on the top and right portions. An interesting bit of extruded metal is seen on the back side, left from the casting process. Medium density rose and blue patina is seen on all sides.
