Early Proof Sets
1906 1C Five-Piece Proof Set, PR64-PR66 PCGS. This five-piece proof set is all PCGS-certified and includes:
Indian Cent PR65 Brown. Uniformly mellowed brown and blue patina with just a glimpse of red still covers each side. The proof fields are subdued by the depth of toning.
Liberty Nickel PR66. The fields are brightly mirrored and each side shows just the slightest hint of oil-slick iridescence. Pinpoint-sharp strike definition throughout. A few minor flyspecks of carbon are seen on both sides.
Barber Dime PR64. Pale blue-gray centers darken around the margins. Fully struck and lightly hairlined.
Barber Quarter PR65. Deeply mirrored fields on each side. The toning is nearly impossible to describe with so many colors present and spread across each side in a seemingly random pattern. A diagonal swath of near-brilliance can be seen on the upper-left of the obverse.
Barber Half Dollar PR65. Similarly toned to the quarter above, the fields are likewise deeply reflective and flash forcefully through the layers of light patina. Sharply but not quite fully struck up.
