1870 25C Standard Silver Quarter Dollar, Judd-906, Pollock-994, Low R.7, PR64 NGC. CAC. This Standard Silver design depicts a bust of Liberty facing right on the obverse. Liberty's cap is ornamented with three stars and a ribbon with the inscription LIBERTY, the motto IN GOD WE TRUST is on a scroll at the lower periphery. The reverse depicts the denomination within a wreath of oak and laurel with STANDARD SILVER above and the date below. Struck in silver with a reeded edge. Approximately a dozen pieces are known with a reeded edge and a similar number are extant with a plain edge. Copper and aluminum examples were also struck from these dies. The surfaces are bright with light hairlines. The centers of each side are brilliant with copper accented margins.
