Gold Dollars
1850-D G$1 XF45 PCGS. Variety 2-C. Dahlonega gold expert Doug Winter calls the 1850-D gold dollar "underrated and undervalued in all grades." With an estimated survival of fewer than 175 pieces, the issue is indeed among the scarcer D-mint Type One gold dollars. This collectible Choice XF representative displays original olive-gold patina with deeper orange-gold overtones in the fields. The strike is bold, and light wear is consistent with the grade. Population: 13 in 45, 59 finer (11/16).
