Gold Dollars
1852-C G$1 MS61 NGC. Variety 2, with light repunching beneath the 1 in the date. This straw-gold Charlotte gold dollar has satin luster and unblemished surfaces. The strike is good aside from softness on the A in DOLLAR. A mere 9,434 pieces were struck, and fewer than 350 coins are believed to survive in all grades. Census: 16 in 61, 44 finer (11/16).
