1886 G$1 PR65 PCGS. The proof 1886 gold dollar's mintage reach 1,016 coins, making the date plentiful in the context of proof gold dollars. However, many pieces were mishandled by Mint employees before distribution, and a significant number pieces have been lost over the last century-plus. The result is that Gem-quality examples are scarce. This piece displays a full strike and reflective fields. Mint-green, peach-gold, and pale rose hues adorn each side.
