Liberty Quarter Eagles
1860 $2 1/2 Old Reverse, Type One, MS62 PCGS. The PCGS Population Report shows the 1860 Old Reverse coins, distinguished by the oval O in OF, to be three times rarer than their New Reverse counterparts. That service has seen 31 examples in all, including six MS62 coins and four finer submissions (11/16). This impressive Uncirculated quarter eagle is nearly fully struck with attractive rose-gold color and vibrant luster. The surfaces are markedly prooflike, although field chatter on each side limits the grade.
