Liberty Quarter Eagles
1862/1 $2 1/2 MS61 PCGS. The upright of a 1 is undeniable below the knob of the 2. A sharply struck peach-gold Civil War quarter eagle. The lustrous surfaces are lightly abraded. The overdate is highly elusive overall, and most certified examples are in XF to AU grades. Only a handful of pieces are known in Mint State. Encapsulated in a green label holder. Population: 2 in 61, 3 finer (10/16).
