1882 $2 1/2 MS62 PCGS. Attractive for the assigned grade, this Uncirculated business strike is mostly prooflike (as are nearly all 1882 quarter eagles). The mintage of just 4,000 pieces assured that the dies never entirely lost their polish. Vibrant orange-gold color radiates bright mint luster for outstanding eye appeal. A few light marks determine the MS62 designation, although the sharp strike and vivid coloration suggest a finer grade. Population: 20 in 62, 38 finer (10/16).
