1896 $2 1/2 MS66 PCGS. From a nominal mintage of 19,070 pieces, the 1896 Liberty quarter eagle can be found in grades up to the MS65 level with a little patience, but finer examples are elusive. This spectacular Premium Gem exhibits sharply detailed design elements throughout, with impeccably preserved orange-gold surfaces and vibrant mint luster on both sides. Eye appeal is terrific. Population: 35 in 66 (2 in 66+), 7 finer (11/16).
